Nori Maki Sushi

Sushi where rice and other ingredients are rolled inside a sheet of nori seaweed is called Maki sushi.

Instructions:

  1. Place a nori sheet on the bamboo mat, shiny side down.
  2. Spread sushi rice evenly in a 5 mm layer, leaving a small edge uncovered. Slightly wet your hands to prevent sticking.
  3. Place your chosen fillings in the center of the rice (wasabi, mayonnaise, cucumber, salmon, cream cheese, etc.).
  4. Lift the mat with your thumbs and roll away from yourself, guiding the filling with your fingers and folding the near edge of nori over the filling.
  5. Use the mat to shape and tighten the roll.
  6. Cut into 6 or 8 equal pieces.
