Nori Maki Sushi
Sushi where rice and other ingredients are rolled inside a sheet of nori seaweed is called Maki sushi.
Ingredients:
- 10 sheets FUDO Roasted Sushi Nori
- 500 g FUDO Sushi Rice
- 65 ml KIKKOMAN Sushi Rice Vinegar
- 550 ml water
- FUDO Bamboo Mat, 24x24 cm
- Assorted fillings of choice (fish, cucumber, avocado, omelet, roe, cream cheese, Japanese mayonnaise, etc.)
For serving:
- KIKKOMAN Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce
- S&B Wasabi Paste
- FUDO Pickled Sushi Ginger
- FUDO Bamboo Chopsticks
Instructions:
- Place a nori sheet on the bamboo mat, shiny side down.
- Spread sushi rice evenly in a 5 mm layer, leaving a small edge uncovered. Slightly wet your hands to prevent sticking.
- Place your chosen fillings in the center of the rice (wasabi, mayonnaise, cucumber, salmon, cream cheese, etc.).
- Lift the mat with your thumbs and roll away from yourself, guiding the filling with your fingers and folding the near edge of nori over the filling.
- Use the mat to shape and tighten the roll.
- Cut into 6 or 8 equal pieces.
